Namegiving of newbuilding at Odense Steel Shipyard

A.P. Møller - Mærsk Group named its latest newbuilding, of 7,000 TEUs container ship, on Saturday 22 November 2008 at the Odense Steel Shipyard. Mrs Donatienne van Boxmeer (Mr Jean-Francois van Boxmeer, Chairman and CEO of Heineken N.V, wife), gave the name “Marit Mærsk”.  

“Marit Mærsk” is the fifth in a series of six highly automated container ships, designed and built to meet the highest demands for safe, precise, environmentally friendly (to minimize the fuel consumption and thereby CO2 emissions) and economic transportation.
