Concession contract of the new container terminal

Hutchison Port Holdings (HPH) and Ports of Stockholm have signed an agreement for the concession of the new container terminal Stockholm Free Port from the group of Hong Kong. The new terminal will be constructed at the new port aria of Nynäshamn, near Norvikudden and about 60 kilometres southern of Stockholm.

According to the agreement, Hutchison Port Holdings will operate the Stockholm Free Port for 25-year period, commence from March 1, 2009. The SFP will be operated in 2012 (in three phases) and will cover a 25 hectares aria, including a 800 linear-metres berth with 15 metres depth.

  • The new port of Nynäshamn will have an annual handling capacity of 500.000 TEUs and a total traffic of 300.000 cars carried by Ro-Ro vessels.
