Norwegian Cruise Line announced that from April 2010 will deploy the 2,466-passenger cruise ship “Norwegian Gem” in the Mediterranean Sea for seven-night cruises to the Adriatic Sea, Greek Isles and Turkey, using Venice as homeport.

Its expansion plans in Europe includes the addition of the 2,376-passenger cruise ship “Norwegian Jade”  in the Mediterranean Sea for seven-night cruises, using Barcelona as homeport and the 2,376-passenger cruise ship “Norwegian Jewel” in 12-night voyages out of Dover, England to the Baltic Sea.

NCL also announced plans to deploy 3 cruise ships in Alaska in 2010. “Norwegian Pearl” and “Norwegian Star” will offer seven-night itineraries out of Seattle while “Norwegian Sun” will offer seven-day voyages among Vancouver, British Columbia and Whittier, Alaska.

  • In the 3rd Q of 2008, NCL Corporation Ltd. (NCL) reported net income of USD 171.2m on total revenues of USD 639m compared to a net loss of USD 8.6m on total revenues of USD 632.5m for the 3rd Q ended September 2007.
