Evergreen
is to launch a new Europe – Asia – West Coast North America
pendulum service next month as part of a restructure of its
transpacific services, to reduce bunker costs and get
a minimal effect on transit times.
Evergreen's
Asia - United States (AUS) service, operated by 9 vessels
on a twin-loop service linking California to Shanghai –
Ningbo - Qingdao and Kaohsiung - Hong Kong - Yantian, will be split
in two.

The new US West Coast - Asia - Europe (UAE)
service will be: Los Angeles – Oakland – Taipei – Kaohsiung –
Hong Kong – Yantian – Tanjung Pelepas – Colombo – Rotterdam –
Hamburg – Thamesport – Zeebrugge – Taranto – Port Said – Colombo
- Tanjung Pelepas – Yantian – Hong Kong - Kaohsiung Los Angeles

The new CPS service will start from 26th
December 2008 linking: Pusan – Shanghai – Ningbo – Qingdao –
Los Angeles – Oakland – Pusan.
Previously, the CES service employed 8
vessels of 7,024 TEUs, while the AUS service
employed 9 vessels (2 of S-types, 4 of 6,332
TEUs and 3 of 5,362 TEUs)
