“Italy
and Egypt have a central role in the
development of the Mediterranean and the maritime
agreement, just signed by Altero Matteoli and the Egypt's
Transport minister Lofty Mansour, in Rome, will have a
positive impact in this direction”, Italian Transport minister,
said.
By the new agreement, the two countries will operate new lines
to develop the short sea shipping by the existent and new
motorways of the sea.
The optimization of sea transport and the efficiency of the ports
system and checking on the arrival and departure
of merchandises can help the economic trade between Italy
and Egypt to increase. The trade in the last four years has
brought Italy to third place as supplier and first
place as customer of Egypt.
