O.S.K. Lines
Ltd. (Akimitsu Ashida, president) opened its own terminal
in the U.S. port of Jacksonville, Florida. The first ship
(serving the ESX-China/North America East Coast route) berthed in
the afternoon of January 12th.
MOL's
wholly owned subsidiary TraPac, Inc. (headquarters: Los
Angeles) operates the new terminal, with a total quay 730m
length, in a total area of 65ha. The Port of
Jacksonville is fully developed with sufficient railway
and road networks.
